Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how NEELD Holdings Pty Ltd ("NEELD", "we", "us") handles information in connection with the MEC smart lock app (the "App") and this website, neeld.com.au (the "Site").

We built the MEC app to be private by design. It runs entirely on your device and talks directly to your lock over Bluetooth. It has no user accounts, connects to no cloud service of ours, and does not send your information anywhere.

The short version

• No account. No cloud. No analytics or advertising inside the App.
• Your lock data stays on your phone — we never receive it.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Information the App handles (and where it stays)

Lock credentials and settings. When you pair a MEC lock, the App stores the lock's identifier and the security keys needed to operate it locally on your device only. This never leaves your phone and is never transmitted to NEELD or any third party.

Bluetooth. The App uses your device's Bluetooth to discover and communicate with your lock. That communication is directly between your phone and the lock.

Location permission. Google's Android operating system requires an app to hold location permission in order to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. The App requests this permission solely to enable Bluetooth scanning. The App does not collect, use, store, or transmit your location.

Fingerprints. Where your MEC lock supports fingerprint access, fingerprints are enrolled on and stored by the lock hardware itself. Fingerprint data is never sent to, processed by, or stored by the App or by NEELD.

Information we do not collect

Through the App we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, usage analytics, or advertising identifiers.

This website

The Site is a static informational website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It does not set advertising cookies or run third-party analytics. If you contact us using the email address or phone number listed on the Site, we use those details only to respond to your enquiry.

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may automatically process standard technical information such as IP address and request logs to deliver and secure the Site. The Site currently loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address in order to serve those fonts.

Data security

Because your lock data never leaves your device, its protection is tied to your device's own security. We recommend keeping your device protected with a passcode or biometric lock and keeping your operating system up to date.

Children

The App and Site are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
